Live

Live performance is what gets to the soul of music; creating, sharing and feeding off of other musicians or listeners whether it is an arena with thousands of fans, an intimate club with less than a hundred people or a bar with only a few die-hard fans paying attention. I've been to concerts with major artists and enjoyed them but it is the artists and musicians who just want to perform for people and have full-time jobs or who are trying to make a living out of it that I really want to see - those who stay humble, value their fans and keep them close. I've been seeing live music since 2004 and heard lots of great music, gone to state-of-the-art venues and hold-in-the wall clubs, made lots of friends and seen many aspects of performing and almost all of the things that can happen, both good and bad. But as a whole my experience has been great and I wouldn't trade it for anything. And just maybe I'll help make memories for other people someday.

In this section you'll learn more about arists I'm friends with, venues I've been to and my memories from over ten years of going to live shows.

Artists

JAB - A jam band that plays around my hometown of Warminster and have become the centerpiece of my local music experience. Shows by the group bring together a large network of friends and artists from Warminster (the Wu), Southampton (known as the Dirty South) and other local towns.

Dave Devlin - Impressive singer/songwriter with powerful, emotional-tinged music who is as comfortable playing as part of a power trio as he is playing a solo intimate acoustic set. He was the first independent artist I saw and my first musician friend.

Fantastic Planet - A mix of rock, funk and soul, this band is one of the most amazing groups I've ever met. Led by my talented friend Greg Harrigan they do their best to make every show into a dance party.

Laura Cheadle - Singer/songwriter who incorporates elements of soul and R&B. Her family is very involved in her music; her father plays keyboards and produces, her brother plays lead guitar. She was the first artist who contacted me on MySpace before I met them.

Loretta Allen - Loretta Allen is an amazing singer/songwriter with an angelic singing voice. She was part of Stellium, a psychedelic rock trio. I consider her to be a good friend as well.

The Pheromones - Garage rock with elements of punk, country and soul. The members all live in or near my hometown and were the first group I found on MySpace that I didn't know before.
